Happy Monday, friends!! This past weekend was my bridal shower in Milwaukee, and it was SO much fun. My mom and I went a day early and stayed at the Kimpton Journeyman Hotel (where the shower was taking place) and had a little mini “staycation” before the celebration began. Faustino Gran Reserva– I love trying out new wines, so I was super excited about this Faustino Gran Reserva that was included in the box. This wine is an intense, bright cherry red. Per its description, it’s aromatic and complex, with notes of tobacco, cedar, and leather against a background of ripe fruit, jam and spices. It definitely has a powerful yet velvety flavor of red fruits and licorice and tastes amazing- perfect for pairing with lamb, duck, pork or beef.
Flatiron Books– I always get excited to try out new books and when I travel and make sure to have one on hand. Thanks to Flatiron Books, I was able to break out the book My Ex-Life by Stephen McCauley. McCauley is the bestselling author of The Object of My Affection, which was made into a movie with Jennifer Anniston and Paul Rudd (which I loved.) The book is about two exes that reconnect, and it’s hilarious! I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a light-hearted read.
Bellame: Aqua Lumiere Hydrating Eye Cream & Moisturizer: I am always looking for new skincare products and after trying this eye cream and moisturizer for a few days, I am officially hooked. The eye cream is silky and really stands up to the demands of the orbital area. Erin’s Faces: Deet Free Mosquito repellent– I was actually extremely happy to see this was in the box. We went up to the rooftop (the Insider) for some drinks after dinner this weekend, and since it had been raining all day and was pretty humid, the mosquitos were definitely out in full force. This vegan repellent really helped keep them away by using the essentials oils of eucalyptus, citronella, and lemongrass! I plan to keep this in my bag and bring it with me to all outdoor activities this summer… the mosquitos in the Midwest are no joke y’all.
