Happy Wednesday! I am so excited to be sharing a product that we’ve been using ever since bringing little Lucy into our home a few months ago. After a couple of days with her, I thought I was for sure going to be doomed in the potty training world. I tried everything to make sure she wasn’t going in the house, but it was pretty much impossible to avoid and I started getting really frustrated. I remember even talking to my mom about how easy it seemed with our family dog (however, I wasn’t the one actually training her back then- haha!) and I just wanted her to learn how to go on her own.
A friend of mine actually introduced me to Hartz Dog Pads as they are solely what she uses for her small dog- living in Chicago in a high rise can be really tough for pet owners! I have to say, I was a bit against them at first because they’re really not the most glamorous addition to the home… but now we couldn’t be more grateful for them! Since the weather in Chicago is iffy, and we live 3 floors up, the Hartz Dog Pads have been a life-saver for letting her go when she needs to go without having to trudge through the snow and mud and bringing that back into the house.
Hartz Home Protection Dog Pads are America’s #1 rated dog pads and have outperformed all of their competitors. The best part about them is that they are designed with 6 layers and use FlashDry® technology to turn the liquid into gel to lock in moisture and allow for multiple uses. I’ve noticed they don’t seep onto the floor as some other brands do and they smell like lavender which helps block any unpleasant smells out.
The easiest part of using these dog pads is how easy it is to clean up. As long as your pup is trained to go potty on them, all you have to do is scoop it up and throw it in the trash. The odor blocking capability protects the trash from getting stinky and they barely take up any room. We go through a couple a week and one pack has lasted us over a month!
Not just for puppies
What I love about the Hartz Dog Pads is that can be used for dogs of all ages! Most people think of these more so as “training pads,” which is definitely what they can be used for… but there may be other instances where you might find yourself needing these. (ie. bad weather and/or working full-time or running late- not being able to get home in time) Dogs are smart, once they start using it they’ll remember what it’s for in the future. We plan to have Lucy go outside once the weather starts to get better, however, we will always have these on hand for any unexpected circumstances that she can’t go out for.
Because of how easy these have made training our pup, we now store a few in the car and in her carrier for any traveling or hotel stays! Another plus?! Hartz Dog Pads are conveniently sold nationwide on Amazon, Walmart, Chewy.com and even your local grocery store.
