Traverse City Travel Guide & a Nordstrom Gift Card Giveaway!!

Happy Monday, everyone!  I just got back to the swing of things after an amazing long 4th of July weekend/break.  It was so nice to be have some time off to spend with friends and family back in Wisconsin, and I even got to see Luke Bryan in the mix!

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to travel to Traverse City, Michigan for a little stay-cation at the Cherry Tree Inn and attend one of my good friends wedding at the gorgeous Rove Winery.  I had never been to Traverse City before, so I was super excited to visit what most people call one of the most beautiful spots in the US!  Our hotel, the Cherry Tree Inn was located just a few miles from the downtown Traverse City and had a convenient complimentary shuttle that would take you to and from.  Although we had a rental car, this was a nice little bonus since it was the first weekend in 2 months (yes 2 months!) that I had drank alcohol, so I definitely didn’t want to have to worry about driving.  The hotel sits right along an adorable little beach on Lake Michigan.  The views from our balcony were absolutely breathtaking, we would just sit out there each morning to take it in.  We also had a huge jacuzzi tub and mini kitchen in our room, and the bathroom was one of the nicest I’ve seen in a while- there was a TV in the mirror!  The staff was also super accommodating and friendly… especially the shuttle driver. She gave us so many recommendations on what to do/what not to do, we left feeling like we wished we had two weeks to stay!

The first night we were there, we took the shuttle downtown and had drinks at a really cool, laid back brewery called the Workshop Brewing Company.  They had endless selections of brewed beer and live music, which was super fun to enjoy while we waited for our table next door at Alliance.  Alliance… where do I even start. It’s nestled in a “warehouse” type space and is contemporary and modern. We had the mushroom salad, which is absolutely to die for, the Thai Friend Chicken and the Octopus.  The food was so delicious and I kept thinking about how much I wanted to go back the next day.  If we would have been in Traverse City longer, I definitely would have gone back!  After dinner, we stopped by The Franklin for drinks on the rooftop.  If you’re looking for a fun spot for drinks/dinner I highly recommend the Franklin.  The rooftop has a great little view of the main street.  For breakfast, we headed back downtown to the Omelette Shoppe and had some of the best omelettes of our life.  This super cute breakfast and lunch place gets busy, so expect a well worth it wait.
