Dining with Woodfield Mall

This post is sponsored by Woodfield Mall. As always, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting brands that make Marvelous in the Midwest possible!
Back when I was in high school, my friends and I used to make the drive from Wisconsin (about 2 hours-ish) to Woodfield Mall on the weekends to shop. Living in Wisconsin, we didn’t have all the good stores like Nordstrom, so we’d pack up and make a whole day out of it. Now that I’m living in Chicago, I love how close I am to the mall as it’s one of the biggest in the country with over 300 retail stores!
Since my high school days, they’ve really made some amazing improvements to the dining options at Woodfield Mall, specifically, they’re new Dining Pavilion and main restaurants such as Uncle Julio’s, Kinfork BBQ & Tap (my fav!) and the Cheesecake Factory. Unlike your standard mall food courts that just house a Mickey D’s and Sbarro (note they DO still have these at Woodfield if that’s your thing!!) they’ve added more upscale and exciting options such as Blaze Pizza, Stan Donuts and even a Nic’s Organic Food… how cool is that for a food court?!
Last week I had the opportunity to check out the new Dining Pavilion and eat at some of their most popular restaurants and you can say that by the time I left, all I wanted to do was pass out and go to sleep- I was stuffed! We started at Kinfork BBQ & Tap for appetizers and cocktails. If you ever get a chance to visit them, I HIGHLY recommend the cheese curds (because duh, I’m from Wisconsin and we LOVE our cheese curds!!) But really, they’re that good. They also make amazing Moonshine cocktails, my favorite being the ‘Peach Smash.’ I love Kinfork because it’s a one of a kind restaurant (not a chain) and the atmosphere is super relaxed and casual yet fun.
After apps at Kinfork we headed to Uncle Julio’s, a popular Mexican restaurant in Chicago and the burbs for entrees and margaritas! Since living in Chicago for the past 7 years, Uncle Julio’s has been a go-to spot for Matt and me to fill our Mexican food cravings. From the table side guacamole to the table side margaritas (order the 321 margarita- it’s SOO cool!!) everything is fresh and delicious, and it’s always consistent which I love. We always get an appetizer to start (like the bacon wrapped shrimp) and then split an order of fajitas because they’re huge!
Our last stop was to the Cheesecake Factory for some cheesecake. I have to be honest, it had been a while since I had cheesecake from there but it was just as good as I remembered! With endless amounts of options it was hard to pick just one but after getting to sample a couple of their seasonal specials (Cinnabon & Black Cherry- say what?!) I went with the classic S’mores, because who doesn’t love a good chocolate/marshmallow combo!?
If you live in Chicago or are traveling here for fun and are looking for a spot to shop, I promise you- Woodfield Mall is the place to be!
