Last week I headed over to one of my favorite malls in the country, Woodfield Mall, for a day of Father’s day shopping! My dad is one of the hardest people to shop for, mainly because he already has everything he could possibly want/need, so I knew I’d at least be able to find something he’d love at the nearly 300-store mall. Woodfield Mall (a Simon mall) is one of the largest malls in the US, and is located about 30 minutes from downtown Chicago. Because it is home to all of my favorite stores, it was a huge challenge not to shop for myself while I was there!
Since I got to the mall around noon, I definitely needed some fuel to get my through the day, so I decided to have lunch at Kinfork, which is a classic american-barbeque restaurant located on the main level between JC Penney and Nordstrom. I had the buffalo chicken wrap and sweet potato fries and they did not disappoint! I also picked up a gift card for dad, because I know he’d love this place just as much as I did.
Tommy Bahama is one of his favorite retailers, so I was happy to see that they had a store here! I spent about an hour trying to figure out the perfect gift (and size) and the sales associates couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating! My gift is a secret (don’t want dad to see), but how cute are those shorts with the little sharks on them?! I wanted to snag a pair for my boyfriend as well!
Next I headed over to the BOSE store, because dad can never have enough headphones. He is obsessed with watching movies on his iPad… at home and when he travels, so I thought a pair of nice headphones would be perfect! I especially loved the Soundlink Bluetooth Headphones, they are a featherlight weight and have an advanced 2-way microphone system for clear calls in windy or noisy places… meaning you can connect it to your iPhone to take calls! I also really liked the sleek style… they are under $200 and come in black and white.
If you are looking for the perfect Father’s Day gift, or just want to do a little R&R for yourself and are located in Chicago- I highly recommend you travel the 30 minutes out to Woodfield Mall to shop! I love to get out of the city once in a while, so this was the perfect little escape (they even have rolled ice cream!!) With around 300 stores and endless dining options (think Cheesecake Factory, sushi, bbq, PF Changs) there is definitely something for everyone here.
Thanks to Woodfield Mall for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own.
